Ania de Rohas is a multidisciplinary artist. She creates complex and immersive visual structures to explore new ways of understanding and imagination of the present / future scenarios.
Her artistic practice encompasses different media such as painting, sculpture, large-scale immersive ephemeral spatial pieces and a temporary site-specific installations made of delicate, light, unstable materials. Many of her works are conceived within site-specific environments and she frequently blurs the lines between her artwork and the space it occupies.
Her artistic language is critical and at the same time sensitive, scarce in color and form, defined by spatial sensitivity. Her work base on the creation of multi-layered narratives and can be reminiscent a network with multiple connections. It is a set of clues and layers, encouraging viewers to make their own associations and narrative in order to unravel the complexities staged by the artist. It aims to involve the viewer in a physical, sensual and emotional way.
She graduated with honors in Fine Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, PL [MFA Hons., BFA Hons.]. She received a scholarship in Sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, ES.
She was selected for the Best Fine Arts Pieces in Warsaw and the Best of Visual Arts Diplomas in Poland at the 8th Interdisciplinary Art Festival, Zyrardow, PL.
She also studied Philosophy [MA/BA].
